My first food blog! Beverage blog? I was never much of a cook, but homesteading has really changed things for me. I’m learning to make use of what I have and, one year into homesteading and in the middle of June: it’s a big Rosemary bush.
Here are three beverage recipes that include rosemary syrup, as well as a rosemary syrup recipe, and other suggestions. It is perfect for the hot summer days! If you want to buy some of my syrup or fresh rosemary or dried rosemary or a kit and are local, click those links! I used our organically grown and cultivated rosemary bush.
Rosemary Syrup
So many uses! Along with the three recipes below, I pour it in my coffee!
Ingredients for Rosemary Syrup:

- 1 cup water
- 1/4c sprigs of fresh or dried rosemary
Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water.
2. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.
3. Once dissolved, add the fresh rosemary sprigs.
4. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5-7 minutes, then remove it from the heat and let it steep for an additional 15-20 minutes.
5. Strain the syrup into a clean bottle and refrigerate. It can be stored for up to two week.
